Best Purifier

Analog Power Cable with a filter for suppressing circuit high-frequency RF interferences.

Why Power Purifier? It is common knowledge that, to achieve high and super high quality of sound reproduction, modules and blocks comprising a sound system (Amp, PreAmp, CD’s, DVD’s) must meet strict technical requirements. These requirements for sound tracks of the above mentioned blocks vary due to differences in physical principals of treating, transforming and amplifying electrical sound signals. However, this type of equipment shares a common requirement related to the quality of a power supply, which is one of the most important components of any electronic module of a sound-reproducing system. In other words, even if one uses carefully correlated output cascades with an identical pare of lamps, and output transformers and transistors, they will not be able to compensate for detrimental deviations resulting from the less-than-optimum operating regime of a power source.

Usually, these conditions arise when a system uses several electronic blocks with a power extension distribution line with insufficiently low output impedance. The result could be a mutual effect of modules and blocks of the system on each other. Thus, a power amplifier, which consumes a considerably greater power than pre-amplifying blocks, will certainly affect power sources of these systems and, consequently, on the transmission quality of a musical signal.

Moreover, high-frequency RF and EMI interferences, whose presence to one extent or the other is unavoidable in an electrical circuit, access power-supply modules and could also reach sound-reproduction channels. Even when they are significantly reduced by using input filters with power-source blocks, they are still quite detectable by ear. A brand new xMatrix Power Purifier has been developed that reduces to the minimum the above-described deviations in sound reproduction.

This unit is built using an electrical wire with a round cross-section made of super pure (99.9%) silver 14 AWG and gold and rhodium plated output electrical and GND contacts of power sockets. As the result, the Purifier provides an infinitesimally low value for the total electrical contact resistance. This, in turn, eliminates detrimental mutual effect on each other of the connected electronic blocks of a Hi Fi system. The digital part is equipped with an additional system of filters for handling RF and EMI interferences in the range from audible frequencies to megahertz. These filters prevent the access of signals associated with electrical interferences into the sound channels of digital equipment (CD’s, DVD’s, DAC, etc.). The analog part of the system is also equipped with filters and intended for use with separate power supplies (power amps and pre-amps). (Power amp is connected to power amp output, and pre-amp to pre-amp output). Pre-amp power output is made of modified gold-plated 15 amp hospital-grade, American-made (Arrow Hart) power sockets. Power Amp outlet is equipped with a modified, rhodium-over-silver plated 20 amp, hospital-grade power socket. .

In addition to using top quality parts, the internal wiring of the unit utilizes pure silver wire and tightly soldered connections (with no internal plugs), which minimizes resistance while improving dynamic performance. It should also be noted that gold and rhodium plating is used not only for current-conducting line and neutral contacts but also for the entire metallic body of the power outputs that provides an extremely low contact resistance of the ground connection. Providing the highest possible quality of the grounding in Hi Fi systems is the utmost requirement which, when satisfied, results in a dramatic improvement of such important parameters of a sound signal as smoothness, warmth, lack of brightness, focus and attack. Integrated power cord (non-disconnectable) prevents unavoidable electrical contact losses due to the presence of an additional connector, and is made of stranded pure silver (99.9%) wires with a round cross section and total 13 AWG for line and neutral conductors and 10 AWG for the ground one. The cord is equipped with a modified hospital-grade power plug with rhodium over silver-plated contacts (manufactured by an American company (Arrow Hart) and an external RF/EMI ferrite filter. The unit also comes with an additional detachable surge protector module, which is mounted, on the rear panel. The front panel is made of polished Canadian oak and equipped with a light indicating operating regime of the unit. As far as connecting power cords, any product offered on the audio market will do. However, the best results are achieved by using a completely correlated PreAmp Power Cord, Power Amp Power Cord, and Digital Power Cables manufactured by xMatrix Inc. (please refer to the “Power Cord” web page for additional product information).
